Offline | 2005 Cooper leaked at left of boot (wet under carpet) - high level brake light seal replaced - no difference. Dealer then replaced left rear light seal and hey presto - fixed. |

Offline | Haven't had any problem with my Mini but had a similiar problem with another car. It was the seal around the back lights ... might be worth getting it checked out. |

Offline | Thanks for the tips i have ordered 2 new seals around the backlights and i did a small test yesterday. I removed all the plastic cover and lifted up the floor mat in the boot then i hosed down the car around the lights and nothing was comming in that way... the i hosed down the third brake light and a small amount of water was comming in. Did the same test by hosing down the boot to see if the rubber seal was leaking and yes it is comming in that way to... Damn car.. If you have more info please post it up here ![]() Thanks UPDATE: The left light is leaking also ![]() Last edited by Crashnet2000 : May 7th, 2006 at 11:42 AM. |

Offline | Spent 10 minutes hosing my 2002 One from underneath to try and ascertain how water was getting in under left side of boot carpet. Couldn't get any water to enter the boot from beneath. Then came in and checked out the forums. Found several comments suggesting leaks from the 3rd (high level) brake light. Hosed that down and found water pouring in! Thanks guys for once again offering great advice. Car is still under cherished warranty (just) so I'll get it sorted this week |

Offline | My 2006 MC has a water leak in the boot. It's in the well under the tire kit (foam). There's water under the carpet on both sides, even some corrosion/rust through the paint! There's mold on the foam under the carpet. I think this idea of the middle top light on the top of the boot might be the problem. Mine's under warranty. When I get it sorted, I will post again. |
