South Africa Another electrical problem

I have a problem with my 2003 MINI Cooper, it is an electrical fault and although it has occurred many times in the past I’m now able to replicate it. The problem is and can be replicated as follows:
Driving lights on
Rear mist light on
As the front spot lights are switched on the windscreen wipers activate

Switching the spot lights off does not stop the wipers from working but only slows their movement. Even after I turn the ignition off and remove the key the wipers keep on going.

Anyone experienced a similar problem?

My boot unlocks sometimes when I turn my headlights on and off. Its seems to do it after a heavy rainfall but never does it when I take it to the dealer to get checked. funny that.

Check under the carpet in the front seat.. you may find that you've got a rain channel blocked, and that water is getting in through the dash. If this is the case you might find your BCM is getting sorted in water!

Electrical Problems

Check the fuses under the hood. Also look at the wires to see if any of them are burned. Our oil light suddenly came on Back on June 24th. The power steering suddenly went out, also. Then the car wouldn't start back up. We saw smoke, and had it towed in to a local repair shop. Found all of the wires burned, went up, and fried the computer. BMW has ordered the wrong replacement comuter. It is August 12th and I still don't have my car. This has been very expensive for a rental car and all the repairs. I recommend taking it in and fixing the problem before it causes greater damage.

I wrote to BMW and the MC gone in today to have it checked out, and at the same time the shudder on the clutch. Will update...

DIY Fixed

Will be collecting the car later today, apparently a wire going to the front spots was chaffing and caused a short (fire hazard, rather scary). anyway I'll check later.
