United-States need to repair interior scratches (down tubes)

I need some help concerning scratches on the interior of my 2004 Cooper. The cup holder that is attached to the passenger-side pillar has shifted and left scratches on the down tube. I have searched through several threads going back to 2003 and have found several that address the problem but cannot find a solid solution. Does anyone known if there is a kit or perhaps some type of crafts paint that can repair the finish? Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

In a word, no.

Either get a new one from your dealer or remove them, sand down, prime, spray and lacquer in a colour of your choice.

The second option is better especially if you use a lot of layers of lacquer as it will provide a more hardy finish.

If you want to go totally mad you could also use a fine polish, sealant and wax at the end to get a totally smooth and shiney finish.

It was acceptable in the 80's
