Clicking from under near side sill.....

For a while now I've been hearing a metallic clicking noise coming from what sounds like under the passenger sill. It only clicks when pulling away or lifting off (when the car naturally jerks slightly under acceleration or deceleration), so always just assumed something was a bit loose.

Had a reason to take the Minx to Barons this morning though to get it looked at. Turns out she needs a new driveshaft. She's now just over two years old, 33000 miles.

All covered under warranty of course... just added it to the list of parts i've had replaced

Hmmm I might have the same clicking noise.

I thought it was possibly an exhaust hangar...

I get it when I pull away dont notice it when lifting off.

Might have to go get it listened to.

Thanks for the info Jon.

Update...

The Minx went in yesterday to have the ns/f drive shaft replaced!

All done under warranty and she feels like a new car! All tight at the front end, pulls in a straight line... much better.

I've got the exact problem. Only difference is I'm out of warranty Dealer quoted around £400 all in (parts, labour, vat) Suddenly that clicking isn't as annoying

Give MiniMania a call in Newport, they can often shave a fair amount of dealer costs, and they're all BMW trained technicians.

They're a sponsor on here to... www.minimaniauk.com

Suprisingly, the labour is only £75. The actual drive shaft is £254 and the rest is vat

ah, this is the thread you told me about Jon

Mine is booked in for the 4th to have a few things looked at, including the clicking noise from the near side front

The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive?
