![]() MINI2 Regular | Hi everybody I have had my beloved HB MCS for just over a year now, but unfortunately in the last 5 weeks I have managed to scrape ALL 4 of the alloys and drive into the pillar of my car port TWICE, scraping and denting my front bumper I just need a bit help about how to go about getting this fixed. I have just bought a new house so I am on a limited budget, but I cant bear looking at my poor bashed Mini any longer. So a few questions: 1. Where is a reputable refurbishment place to get the Wheels fixed in the Midlands? (17" Bullets) 2. What is the cheapest way to go about getting a new bumper? Is it feasible to buy a different colour bumper and get it sprayed HB, or would this end up costing as much as a brand new one from BMW? Any thoughts or suggestions will be much appreciated ![]() |

Offline | Sounds familliar don't want to sound sexist but I let my girlfriend borrow my mcs to go shopping into town and she returned it with a large scrape down the passenger side door after rubbing it against a concrete pillar in the Bull ring Car park!!! Try Chips Away they can perform wonders they did on my baby!!!! |

![]() MINI2 Regular | Thanks for the replys guys. I have defo been having a few "blonde" moments the few weeks! (even though I have red hair!) Just been really busy at work and tired - think I need a holiday! Will check out the 2 wheel places you mentioned. Someone is selling bumpers for an 05 HB MCSC in the For Sale area. Would these fit? |

![]() MINI2 Regular | Bullring has a very spacious car park - my carport is tiny! Though our Golf GTI has a scraped front bumper after rubbing against the car port pillar Ouch. I Kerbed my boyfriends 18" polished alloys on his Golf GTI. So at the min we have a bashed up Mini and a very sorry looking Golf GTI (Golf is worse off)! |

Offline | 45 is OK price. Depends on the job they do as to wether its any good. Heard some bad things of chips away in the past with regard to wheels. A1 wheels seem to have a rep, I think they are in Walsall or somewhere. I think they are recomended by demon tweeks or someone? Laptab are also pretty decent from what I have heard so they are probably a good choice. R |

| MINI2 Regular | i've seen chipsaway do wheels before - they mask tyre off and repair (fill) damage then paint wheel - problems start when you have a tyre replaced later on as the filler comes out ![]() The nearest refurb place to where i live removes the tyre, repairs the rim (weld, etc) checks for straightness, rubs down, repaints, leaves overnight for paint to cure, refits tyre, rebalances wheel for £40 per 17" rim |

![]() MINI2 Regular | They sound good. Lap Tab do a similar service. Emailed them for a quote and got an automated response and no quote, so will give them a ring. I thought the Chipsaway guy would not be worth the money as he said he would come to my house and do it all in a morning Wont mind paying £40 -£50 a wheel if they do a good job and re balance everything. Thanks for the info ![]() |

![]() MINI2 Regular | Will try post some pics, but the bumper is not just scuffed it is dented. They are not very stong. I was practically at a standstill when it happened, yet it has made quite a mess. There is a vertical scuff on the right hand corner near the headlamps and fog lights, and I have sort of crushed the "lip" of the bumper where the bricks have made contact. |
