Lights on warning

I only get the chiming when i leave my sidelights on and turn the ignition off, if the headlights are on it gives no warning at all

Anyone know if this is this a configurable thing or a glitch?

Thanks

I'd get that sorted quick smart if I were you, what with your lack of memory and age etc...

The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive?

Sounds like you've got the Northern European configuration. That's the way mine's set up.

Is your steering wheel on the left or right?

Ditto. My 03 used to warn for head & side lights. My new MC & the MCC loaner I've been driving for the last week only chime for sidelights. The head lights do turn themselves off though, just means they come back on when you start up again so can be on during the day without me knowing. The phrase "eats bulbs for breakfast" springs to mind.

My new wiper seem to be speed sensitive as well, knew nothing about that Should probably read that manual thingy they gave me.

Page 60 (i think) of the manual tries to explain this phenomenon. With headlights on (position 2) headlights & sides go off when ignition is turned off. With sides on (position 1) lights stay on and alarm sounds when ignition turned off. As per usual some of this is programmable so I think you can have the headlights go off but the sides stay on, alarms for both etc. You read the manual and think you understand it just to find a note that says "this item is programmable" which confuses everything.

My 03 headlights used to stay on for a short while after turning them and the ignition off. New one has to have the full beam flashed or summat to have them stay on. Used to love walking away from the car with people waving & pointing about leaving my lights on, just for them, to go off on their own. Looks of confusion, alas no more.

Mine does this too....

I also switched off the headlights, left sidelights on and opened the door, no chiming. Locked car, then unlocked car, opened door and it chimed at me.

Didnt know the headlights switched off after a while though? Thought that just happened if they were switched off, then ignition off, then flash the headlights, for follow me home lights.
