DIY Changing driver front side light bulb, Help!

Hi all
My front driver side light has gone and i brought a new bulb from BMW yesterday. I asked how to change it and he said either lift the bonnect up or reach from underneath the bumper.
So i lifted up the bunnect and could see the unit, i am able to remove the cables for what i think the side bulb is (the one closest to the wheel), there is then still a black bit in the grey unit which i can remove.
The other option from under the bumper seems worse as i can even see the floor through the area so dont see how to reach it!
Any tips or has anyone had the same problem?

Thanks in advance

It's fairly obvious from what I can remember (changed bulbs to LEDS and back again several times, on several MINIs). There's just enough room to get your hand in there when you lift the bonnet.

The sidelight is held in a little housing which gives a little twist (can't remember if it's clockwise or anticlockwise) and it then just pulls out. (the wires go in to the back of this housing, so it's not going to drop down into the bumper and get lost should you drop it)

Putting them back in just give a twist in whatever direction you didn't twist to get it out

finally did it, had a go at the other side bulb and twisted out with ease so then gave it a huge twist with lots of elbow grease and finally go it off yay
