Offline | Windows down and doors unlocked!! Hi there, I'm wondering if anybody else has had this trouble, i woke up this morning, went outside and found that both passenger and driver side windows were fully down and both doors unlocked and alarm disabled! No idea what happened, and worse off it rained during the night. so drove into work with a wet bottom on seat! I did disconnect the battery at the weekend to install a Parrott3200 but the inpact of that shouldn't have caused this, has anybody else has the same problem? - it's still under warranty so i might take it up the road to Mini and ask them. Any ideas folks? |

Offline | Hi There Did you accidently activate the comfort opening on car? I believe it's done by holding down the unlock key. This is the only reason i could think of. Checkie Checkmate mad owner |

Offline | I know the feature you mean, and i've used it on my car in the past, but this time i hadn't even got the keys out my pocket!. I'll whizz it over to BMW Mini to have a look as where i park at work, it's a bit dody, and with a Cooper S on show with windows down, unlocked it'll appeal to anybody! |

Offline | Well thats only if you unlock it yourself and hold the unlock button down, my concern is, it did this during the night when i was asleep and first thing in the morning i walk out the door to find the car windows down and unlocked and soaked inside. I was working on a few servers and about 12am i went outside to empty the bin, looked at the car, it was all snug, so some time in the night it happened...weird! |

Offline | This usually happens when your keys are safe and sound IN YOUR POCKET!!! What happens is you lock your car, turn and walk away, and put your keys in your tight fitting trousers (jeans usually). Unfortunatly, as you walk away, the keyfob or something similar presses against the unlock button, causing the comfort opening to activate, and as you leave the 'secure' car, you are actually unlocking it and dropping the windows inadvertantly (and opening the sunroof if you have one.... ). Then you come back to find the car completely open.....Major design flaw..... happened to many people.... So, review what happened on the night, is it possible that the above circumstances happened....? If definatly not, it has been known for other sources of electronic signal to make similar issues occur (you dont work at Fylingdales for instance, do you... ) |

Offline | This morning everything was OK, but i'm still not 100% convinced. I can't rule out the comfort control, and now if that was the cause behind the open windows and doors i'll go and have that feature disabled. It's got me thinking anyway! Thanks for your input anyway guys! |

| Lovin' every MINI of it! | I have heard some weird things happen when the battery starts to go. Might be worth getting it checked out to see if it is the culprit. Global Moderator ![]() |

Offline | there are a set number of programable features on the car, which can be modified by the dealer. Your car possibly does something else, like opening the hatch instead, or maybe isnt programmed at all. There is a FAQ on all this somewhere.... |
