We have a 2003 MCs with about 42,000 kms on it and I took it in yesterday for it's final check before the 4 year warranty runs out. The overflow tank was leaking a bit and was replaced without a grumble. This is the 2nd replacement tank installed and it also leaked a bit around the seams. Fine.

The driver seat has shown some wear on the black Space Cloth material since the car was less than a year old. I took it in near the 2 year mark and after 2 visits the warranty guy from Mini Canada took a look at it. The side bolsters on the seats are showing wrinkling. Three noticable wrinkles about 8 inches long and parallel to the door. It almost looks like some long strips of masking tape or something is under the fabric. The passenger seat is also starting to show the wrinkles. They have become more noticable as time progressed. They refused to do anything about them at that point but the service manager at MINI Victoria told me that they could iron them down but they would only return. He said to bring the car back just before the end of the 4 year warranty period and they would look at them then. He said that he would note on their file that I was not pleased with the wear and did not support their 2 year wait.

I took it in yesterday and they took pictures of the seat again and the new service manager said that he would not do anything about it at this time as he had seen wear in other space cloth seats. He said he would send the pictures to MINI Canada for their response. BTW he could find nothing in their files of my dissatisfaction with the earlier resoloution...but maybe MINI Canada had something in theirs.

I'm just wondering if anjy folks here have had the same wear patterns and if you did, what was the dealer?MINI response?
