Brake problem

I was wondering if anyone knew how to fool the brake pad wear indicator light on the dash it is doing my head in. I have fitted new pads but they didnt come with a new sensor so i am waiting on one being posted, but cant put up with the light. Can anyone help. Cheers!!!

you can fool the system by cutting the 2 wires at the connector(make sure you get the right one) and joining them together the light will go out , do make sure its the right connector,and the cut is wheel side of the connector. oh do make sure its the right connector, ps the right connector must be cut . I suspect doing this might invalidate your insurance so I would not reccommend it,but you did ask

I tried this and the light did not go out. It was definately the right one because i had to cut the worn down sensor off. Do you have to reset the light???

You must be able to live with it for a few days. It seems like an awful lot of trouble when you've got new sensors on the way!

pesky gizmos i wish cars didnt have as its easy to tell a wron pad on a mini the last 3mm are the heat soak and thats when it should be changed
