Sunroof Mesh Shade Problems

Anyone with a sunroof watch out! I was driving my co-worker in my DS MCS today when she went to open the sun shade. I guess she didn't know it was spring loaded, and she just unhooked it, and BAM! the shade rolled back very fast and violently and fell off the track.
I was able to put it back on, but now I notice that the front sun shade is not nearly as smoothly operating as the back one.
I can't remember the way it was before it fell off the track, so I'm not sure if anything was damaged, or if it was exactly the same as before but now my mind notices this more now that the little mishap occurred.
Since the rear shade is much shorter, it's probably naturally alot smoother. Can anyone tell me if your front sunshade is as smoothly operating as the rear one? What I do know is now the front sun shade does not seem as taught as it was before, as it looks like there is a every so slight sag. But again, this could have been exactly the same as before except now I'm noticing it and it's bugging the hell out of me!

i did the same thing with Squirt. on my way to work..ended up with the sun shade hanging down, off its track. almost had a heart attack but i was able to fix it, trying not to get into an accident in the mean time. it still is as smooth as before. maybe you damaged it?

My front and back sunroof shades stopped operating smoothly several weeks ago for no apparent reason. I thought it might be related to heat. The front one did come off the track once, but I don't think that's when the stickiness started happening. There's no sag in either shade.

I took it in to show the dealer and they said the mechanism was faulty and ordered parts to replace it next time I bring the car in. That may be a few weeks yet because of distance to dealer, lack of loaner car program, etc. (see other threads)
