Squeeky Seatbelt and Strange Whine

Has anyone got a fix for the squeeky seatbelt adjuster (which is quite common I believe) which happens first thing in the morning when its cold and damp. It usually goes after about 10 minutes when the car has warmed up inside, however, my journey to work only takes 10 minutes down the motorway, it is starting to crack me up. Anyone fixed theirs??

Also, I had my right side engine mount changed a few weeks ago (loud knock when turning) however, about the same time, my car seemed to make a strange noise on the m/way, when going over 60ish. Its a very strange whine, up and down type noise, can't really explain it, like a hum maybe?? but its still their even after the mount change, anyone experienced anything like this before???

Thanks

If the cars got a CAi either aftermarket or works then it could be absolutely miniture throttle pedal movements causing the intake/charger to whine in an uneven way. I can hear my S doing this since fitting the Alta...it sounds like a slight whistle/whine when on part throttle and it fades inand out as my foot travels minute distances on the pedal.

No its just a plain old simple ONE. I think I will have to take it in for them to have a look, or listen it should be.

It's about the only squeak I ever hear in my car.

Someone advised me to give the seatbelt a big hard tug, as if it was being used under hard braking or you could brake test it, but that might be a bit of an extreme measure

In theory it stops it, I did try it once and it did seem to work!

Yep. I have exactly the same problem with my seat belt. Its the bloody roller mounted up on the pillar by my right shoulder. It bloody winds me up, but as you say it is gone after 10 mins.

I am going to take my industrial sized tub of KY jelly out to it this weekend.

I had the squeaky seatbelt fixed by the dealer under warranty,

At first they used WD-40 and the sqeak went away for a couple of weeks. They then replaced all the white plasticy trim on the b-pillar that surrounds the seatbelt hanger, No sqeak since.

My dealer has had numerous minis in with sqeaky seatbelts.

I'm sure that they did'nt need to change all the trim but I think they were fed up with my moaning and wanted to see the back of me.

Good luck.
