Cigarette Lighter not working

Hi all,

For some reason my cigarette lighter will not work. I have tried to charge my GPS module with it but to no avail. Also the boot cigarette lighter used for the tyre puncture kit (non-runflats) does not work, even if I have the key in the ignition etc.

This is obviously a big problem if I have a puncture!

Can anyone help?

Thanks

First thing to do would be to check the fuse - should be in the interior pack in the passengers footwell (RHD MINI)

Thanks Martin. What should I be looking for if the fuse is dodgy?

Pull the fuse out (there should be a fuse puller tool in the box somewhere), look at the fuse side-on and check that the metal strip inside the fuse is still in one piece and hasn't melted into two halves
