Anyone had to replace their hood/bonnet release cables?

Mine seem to be stretched beyond useable length. Ive done the tiewrap trick, and it no longer works. They need replacing.

Stealership has the part sitting waiting for me to pick it up, but im looking to see if anyone has done the replacement and has some words of wisdom for me.

No, im not under warranty
No, im not paying someone to put it in
