extremely annoying dashboard rattle

Hi, I currently drive a 2004 Mini Cooper S Hot Chilli, I have owned the car since new, It has done 35k kms, so not much use and I really take of it at speedbumps and holes on the road, but it has a terrible rattle in the top section od the dasboard, the one than is next to the windshield, It seems to get worse with cold tempreatures, Its really embarrassing with passengers and would like to fix it, I read the sticky post but I cant get to see the pictures, so I was wondering if some of you guys could please help me out here........ thanks

Unable to help with the fixing unless taking it to a dealer where it might still be under Warranty?
To make you feel better though mine also has this annoying rattle "and others" and more worse in colder temperatures, it's just all part of owning a MINI!

Red Cooper Got mine fixed

Had the same problem with my '05 Cooper. Took it to the dealer, they kept it for a day and a half, but returned it rattle-free. After a cross country trip last year, I had enough of the noises! Seems like a standard problem and the dealer knew just what to do to eliminate it. There was no charge for my repair. Good luck.

dealer won“t help

I already took the car to the dealer to see if maybe they could help, but the dealer here in Monterrey, Mexico, which ibye the way is the only one, is terribly incompetent, it took almost a week for the to service the brakes and change the pads, but I did ask them to try to fix that, they told me they had to take all the dashboard down, so I just didnt trust them, I imagined I would end up with three times the rattles if they tried to help by doing that. So I was trying to learn to live with it, but then I found the post at the beginning of this forum (the sticky post talking about common rattles), and realized that is exactly my problem, so I decided to give it a try, but the problem is that the picture guide cant be seen anymore, I just get the little cross where alll the pictures should be, does any of you by any chanse have those pictures???

thanks in advance

I had a similar problem only it was more of a creak, took it to BMW they removed the whole dash added some padding and charged £500 for the pleasure, unless it's under warranty labour costs for this sort of thing is dear.

Please consider my rubber hose fix in the same thread as the dash disassembly instructions.
It's simple, unobtrusive, and it works.
