Angry coolant level going down

hey,
may sound like a noobie q(it actually is a noobie q lol)
just wondering, how fast is the coolant level meant to go down in the minis??? mines a r50 btw.
i kept going down quite often, so i asked teh bmw guy and they ended up replacing the water pump as it was "leaking". but, it still goes down below min level, and the ba**** just keeps telling me to add water.
could it be another leak?
i'm bringin my car in for airbags (again) so im going to bring the coolant problem up with them. is there any tests or nething that they can do to find out where its leaking (if it is)?
thanks

There was a problem with the coolant bottle leaking. Have you had this replaced? That's probably the issue.

Yep, the one in the engine bay. If you have a little search, you'll find loads of threads about it that should help you out.

It is possible that after the pump was replaced, the system was not properly bled. As the system slowly tries to bleed itself, the air is replaced by coolant and the level drops. Also, if the heater valve was not opened prior to refill, the heater could have an air lock, requiring bleeding as well. The standard Mini has three bleed points that need to be opened until bubble free coolant comes out. One is on the big upper hose, one is on a heater hose next to the battery and one is on a coolant pipe at the left end of the engine from the drivers point of view. Prior to coolant fill, the ignition needs to be turned to position 1, the heater turned to high temp and the blower to low, this opens the valve, then the bleed points are opened and the coolant can thenbe poured in, closing each bleed as the coolant flows out of it.
