Offline | Brakes I installed a set of Stoptechs on the front. Went to Road America and now the rears are needing attention. 1) Will the front originals work on the rear? 2) What is a good set of pads for this? 3) What is the best rear brake upgrade kit? 4) Where is the best place to get them? Not happy with Minimania. Thanks |

Offline | in awnser 1) Will the front originals work on the rear? no they wont fit and to be honest you dont need to upgrade the rear callipers (there are a few minis out there with 350/400 bhp on the stock rears) 2) What is a good set of pads for this? stopteach do rear disc / pad / line upgrades StopTech : Balanced Brake Upgrades 3) What is the best rear brake upgrade kit? see above 4) Where is the best place to get them? Not happy with Minimania. stoptech are base in CA so im guessing your in the states you should be fine ordering direct from them |

Offline | The pads are on the way. He suggested going with a race pad next time. I have the set in the front that came with the kit and he is sending a rear set to match for now but next time he thought I should go with the race set. What is the difference between them? Thanks |

| The Power Cube | BHP & Rear Brakes That's 215hp at the flywheel, but probably only 170 bhp at the wheels. Or are you running a modified car? As for the rear brakes, you can't just fit any calipers to the rear as they need to function as hand brake and foot brake. usually an OEM size upgrade in the rotors, somthing that's grooved. and then a better pad will suffice. You could remain with stock as the brake bias is 80/20 i think. The rears are never really going to get much action. unless you track day often. I wouldn't expect to pay more than about £200 for a rear setup. Cheers, K. ![]() Too many mods to list, PM me if the cat needs killing... |

Offline | i cant comment on the diff as ive never used that brand (all i can say is aviod ecb greenstuff ) i will hopefly be runnig a full stoptech set up soon the fronts are going on first but since ive only got a cooper i will be sticking with it as they come as ive experinced them in and S and the barking was painful (and it was funny to be out braking the porkers into the coners on track with it) there set up on the mini is in truth not worth worring over as the front esp with a stoptech kit will cope with almost anything [quote=ZR 900] How do I get 350 - 400 hp? That would answer the straight stretch problem. Stays with or beats everyone throught the corners but lose ground on the straights. I have 215 hp now I am told.[/QUTOE] if you were uk based i would say GTT but check out MINI COOPER :: North American Motoring and they will sort you PM a guy called dmh (don) or lucky dog garage |
