Did anyone else with a new cooper s have a problem with their ignition? It's impossible to start the engine without pumping the gas a few times first. To fix, the dealer says he has to take the chip, send it to New Jersey (?) get it recoded, and then reinstall. Sort of a drag, no biggie though. Just curious if this happened to anyone else.

Anyone else? Yes, just about everyone else with a Cooper S.

There is now a fix, as your dealer indicated.

at least I'm not alone. It's been 95 degrees out here, so this has nothing to do with cold weather, just first cold start. They'll fix it........or else!

try turning your key to the on position for a few seconds before starting........worked on mine......
