Question Is this hiss normal?

Ok so I have a cooper S with the gtt induction kit. I have had the kit for ages now but it never used to make a sucking/ woosh/ hish type sound like it does now, following the change of the oil breather pipe. It makes this noise when you rev the engine.

I had the common problem of the rocker cover breather/ oil breather pipe becoming soft and sounding like bagpipes, so i got a new one and fitted it today. i noticed the connection into the 'block' at the bottom of the engine through a red plastic seal may not be all that tight. However the hiss is not coming from here, but from the air filter itself.

my question is: is it possible that because the oil breather pipe connection has always been loose, and now the fact that it is tight (at the rocker cover end definately) that this is the reason the woosh has now appeared?

OR is it because it may be loose at the bottom? (it is difficult to tell how air tight the bottom seal it). I am unsure how the filter and this hose are linked in the sense of vacuums etc.

Many thanks for your help in advance!

Dave
