United-States Mini Consumer Complaints-owners/buyers beware

Well I have to be the bad guy. As a 2003 Mini owner I think all owners should be aware and read this consumer site regarding Mini Complaints. I could add the link so I attached the PDF. The problems seem to be more amplified by dealer experiences or lack of mechanical knowledge or attention, The problems listed seem to be issues listed through various threads. All potential buyers and owners should have this background to contend with dealers or mechanics. I think some dealers/mechanics give the Mini a bad rap. For the none mechanic an extended warranty should be on the top of the wish list.

I've had my car two weeks and my window stopped working, my door handle wouldn't unlock from the interior, my roof screen wouldn't latch, but I'm happy to say I fixed them some of whiich to thank all of you out there with your tricks and fixes. Now I'm getting this cool sound out of my power steering. I kind of like it, sort of sounds like the bat mobile. Now watch out I got my bentley manual. Wish my car good luck, no warranty.

I think the Mini is a great car, knock on wood.

No.. one needn't read all the customer complaints.

Cars will have problems. Reading what some layman that has no Idea what they are complaining about, complain will just give you indigestion. As a DIY/former professional mechanic, I read the "consumer report" type complaints and my blood boils.
People out there writing out and out lies based on total ignorance and frustration. They write about failing parts their vehicle doesn't even even have. They make generalized statements such as "the water pumps are all junk" because theirs failed while on a road trip ruining it for them. Angry, frustrated and mostly ignorant. Even the professional reviewers are guilty of such nonsence.

Worse is the sports car crowd. Many psudo informed people thrashing the bajesus out of their car and complaining when it fails..

No.. you can go ahead and pretty much ignore any of those review sites.
