Hi hope someone can help me.Te aircon on my 02 mcs just stopped working the other day as i was driving along.i thought may be it was low on gas so I've had it changed but still no aircon so i investigated further. First the led comes on on the aircon button and I've checked the relay comes on under the bonnet also I've swapped it with another in case contacts failed but still no aircon.my other observation is that on pressing the button i cannot hear the compressor clicking in and the fan does not start on the radiator like it used to the fan does work when stuck in traffic. also all fuses checked. any help welcome!!!

my air stopped sometime this summer too. driving along and suddenly started to get humid in the car. i've had a friend check the compression - seems to be in order. other posts suggest the outside temp sensor may be bad - mine's reading correclty. the fan and compressor want to work, but there's also a whistling on mine - only when a/c or auto is selected.
