Power Steering

Hi All,

After a clutch release bearing going faulty under warranty on my 54 MCS and only having the car back 3 weeks I have now got a power steering issue. Basically I will be driving an have power steering then it will fail then come back etc etc.

Anyone had this before? It went off on Monday on the back of a lorry to the local dealer and they have not looked at it yet so just wanting peoples input really on if this is a common issue.

My 07 Mini has been off the road since last Wednesday ( a week ! ) , its an 07 cooper with 5000 miles, dealer fixed it by unplugging the ecu and replugging ( imagine !! ), anyway got it back on Monday, drove 14 miles on Tuesday, steering failed, a wrestler would not turn the wheel and no power at all in the steering, off it went again on a breakdown lorry

Its our third but this time I won't be back, I can live with the odds and ends because we love the car but this is just crazy...

That does not sound promising, problem is the wife loves the Mini. I might let her have it and buy the 530d thats for sale near by on a 55 plate.

My power steering recently failed on my 01 plate Mini Cooper and we brought a refurbed power steering pump and fitted it ourselves on the driveway took about an hour to fit and the pump cost around £150 with a years warrenty on it.

Thanks

James
