I've seen a couple of posts on the forums about a phantom rattle by the door and you can't work out whether it's coming from the door, the seat, or somewhere else. To make it more fun to find, it doesn't seem to happen when somebody's sitting in the seat as "rattle monitor".

I've had this, which would manifest itself when going round a roundabout. I eventually found out it was coming from the passenger seat height adjustment lever.

I fixed it by using the clear rubber self-adhesive dome things that you find on kitchen cupboards to stop the doors banging.

Just take the cover off the lever and you will see how to remove it. It's pretty easy. See the photos below for where I stuck the domes.

Hi there, thanks for this advice. May I ask how you remove this handle? I dont want to go ripping it out and breaking it lol!!

This is a common rattle, had it in 3 of my 4 minis.

I really hope this fixes my same seriously annoying but mysterious rattle! Now if it does its only the one in the boot left....

Hello, thanks for the tutorial on this, it did sort most of the rattle. Can I clearly point out just incase someone tries to prise off the handle itself, you need to take a small screwdriver to the inside cover cap of the handle, then unscrew using torx driver. !

(I almost ripped off the handle)
