Question Wipers

Recent rain, finally, has left black smudges in the upper left and lower right corners of my windows from the wipers.

Anyone else have this problem? I have wiped it off, but not happy with the situation.

Mine did this about three times before the summer, I guessed it was a combination of dirty water and wiper rubbers wearing out..

the MINI has gone...

ARG!! YES!!!
That happened to me this week on the first rain of the seasson, I have black rubbers mudges all over my windshield -- not happy with it, hoping it is just the wipers wearing in....

Same thing here, smudeges at top and bottom of travel, both sides, and after a while the wipers started chattering too...

However, I think it's more of the wipers breaking in, maybe some residue left on them after the production process?

After about four or five solid rainstorms it seems to have subsided... you also might want to try wiping the blades down with some soapy water...

I noticed this too after mallory park.
Mine's not the rubber as the marks left by mine were not at the end of the sweep.
They were where the wind deflectors are so my guess that its grime that's forced harder onto the screem because of the aerodymamic properties of the windscreen wipers.
I did take a picture as it was a concern while I was in the car, but didn't post as after I got home and noticed it was "stuborn" grime, I put 1+1 together and thought nothing of it. It's only happened the once as this is the only time I've done high speed driving and it's been raining.
I'll post the piccie tonight when I get home for you to look at.

mine done the same after the rain at mallory park, hasn't returned since.

i guessed it was because it was new, breaking in the wipers.

Makes me smile

Me too! Happened once after it hadn't rained here in a while.

The windshield on my truck was getting kind of worn and even new wipers would skip across it, so I tried Rain-X wax on it and WOW this stuff is kewl! Made it really smooth and slick...might be a product that lives up to its advertising! It's also easier to see through (rain or no rain), thought maybe that's because I finally cleaned the inside too

I'm going to "wax" my MINI windows this weekend!
