Offline | Sunroof Rattle Hey My 51 plate cooper has a panoramic sunroof and I noticed a rattle the other day which I believe to be the sunroof as when I open it, the rattle stops. Is there anything I can do to stop this? I dont really notice it too much as I have got used to it now and have my cd player on 90% of the time. I heard something about sticking felt somewhere? If you can help that would be great otherwise I was thinking of speaking to a dealer! Thanks. Dan |

Offline | Its most likely the wind deflector flaps clattering off the underside of the roof when its shut. Mine does this and is around the same age. I am about to apply some felt tape to the pop up deflectors to see if this mutes or stops the rattle when the roof is closed. Will let you know when I do it...or vice versa if you get chance? |

| MINI2 Regular | Durring one of the service intervals i brough my in for, i mentioned that the sunroof was making a lot of noise - I was so bad with the roof open you could hardley talk - To took it all apart and lubed the tracks and slidders. I think this will be a regular maintenence item - I don't know what they would charge out of maintenence ??? Liquid Yellow Cooper |

Offline | Hey I have the exact same problem and has seriously drove me nuts!! I did some fault finding tests and as "Richard CroftsTHE STICK" mentioned I eventually nailed it down to the little wind deflector flap springs. It only happened when the sunroof was closed, weather was cold and it was a bumpy road. So every time I pressed on the little springs with my little finger it would stop , But now the hard problem is trying to stop the noise ! I tried some duct tape on the spring tonight, So hopefully it will stop. |
