United-Kingdom Creaking Brakes...?

Now have another fault on my Mini, have a 53 reg One D with upgraded drilled front discs and green pads all round.
The brakes work bloody well and the car pulls up in a straight line. When I ease off the brake pedal there is a weird creaking sound coming from what I think to be the calipers...
Car has just sailed through its MOT and no faults found...
Anybody heard of this or had the same fault?

Can you pinpoint the sound to the calipers? My first guess would be the return spring on the brake pedal assembly. Does it do it if you brake when stationary?

It only does it when slowing from higher speeds and when releasing the brake pedal having braked firmly. It does no occur whilst stationary and not when breaking at very low speeds.
Any more ideas? Anyone had a seazed break caliper?? Not sure what this is fully but could this be it?

Might have thought a siezed caliper would cause a brake imbalance, which would have been picked up on your recent MOT test.
I would still suspect the pedal assembly as point of first investigation.

Pedal box as first call I concur.

Sticky caliper would have other effects, loss of braking due to excessive heat, pulling as you you brake etc.

Could be on the brake but if your hearing it inside the car then its probably something nearer to the body

mmm... tricky!
i can hear the creak inside the car except it seems to be coming from deep within a wheel arch rather than the pedal box. Its not a high pitch annoying squeak that needs some WD40... Its almost sounds like a creaking branch of a bloody big tree! More driving and extra good hearing needed i think... Can't believe I am the only one who has got this problem as all other faults are common...
If it is he pedal box or cable that causing it were do I lubricate and what do I lubricate?
Thanks for your ideas & help though

United-Kingdom New brakes...

After many weeks of trying to find the creaking from my car under braking, my dealer has found the fault!
They told me it was the non standard rear greenstuff brake pads, on closer inspection they found it to be the rear brake caliper! The rubber seal had perished and dirt hadgot in the piston. Its was replaced last Friday for £261 all in and it the noise has gone!
Thankfully I requested for the dealer not to change the pads which they wanted to do and saved £110 on that! So watch out for rear brake calipers as the fault in not un known... and it can still get through its MOT...!
