DIY No Reverse Light?!?!

How do all!
Need a little help if you can. I've got a 2001 coop, and when I put it into reverse the reverse light doesn't come on.

Now, I've change the bulb several time and even tested the bulb's in the rear cluster of my van to check that there ok. They all work fine!!

Is there a problem with the wiring or reverse switch on the gear box that i should be investigating. Or is there a quick fix for this!!

Open to all suggestions!!!

The reverse light switch will have failed on the gearbox. It happened with my previous mini one. Iv just got a 1st gen cooper and it has the same problem. The switch is only around £5. You need to remove the air filter housing to access the switch which is at the top of the gearbox. The mechanic I used charged me £15.

best thing is its drivable on the road though whilt broken as the Reverse light is not an MOT failure, it is considered a courtesy. But a bugger to reverse at night without it.....lol
