Green Cooper Ticking noise in rear...sounds like a clock

I wasn't sure if this was a normal thing, but I cannot figure out what it could be. When my engine is cold and I start the car in the morning I hear a ticking (clock like) sound coming from the rear seat, or trunk, or rear hatch. I am really confused and have no clue what it could be. Anyone know, or have any Ideas? I talked to the dealership about it a couple times, and when I have left it with them they act like i'm retarted and they have never heard it. Any Clues?? Thanks everyone.

Know this sounds pretty basic - but I thought I was going mad as well when I heard a regular 'tick' from the boot/trunk area at low speeds.

Turns out I hadn't reconnected one of the strings from the rear parcel shelf to the hatch itself (the strings that lift the parcel shelf with the hatch) and that weird looking plastic ball thing that stops the string pulling through the shelf was swinging against the plastic trim at the side of the boot. Worth ruling out?? - would be nice if this was a very easy cure....
