Engine Cut Out

Hi Guys

Had something very worrying happen on Monday morning driving to work.

I was chaging gear from 4th to 5th and the car completed died and through up the engine management yellow light and traction control light. For ten minutes the car hardly pulled and in any gear and sounded like a tractor with no supercharger to be heard. After 10 mins driving it all came back again but with the warning lights still present.

I had the mini customer service team come out to me and look at my car at work (arrived in 45 mins only good service i had ever had with BMW so far)

He plug in the computer to read the fault codes. All was displayed that it misfired on a cyclinder.

He asked me to take the car for a spin and all seemed ok so there was nothing more he could do.

Should i be worried by this??

And driving home today whenever i press the clutch i get this rubbing/deep squeeking noise from the engine bay going to book it into the garage again (5th time in 2 months if you count the call out). Any ideas what might be causing this???

As if the car hasnt had enough work with just about every oil seal being replaced as well as sump gasket and rocker cover. Car has only covered 16k

Thanks for your help

There was a similar case a couple of months ago and it was the coil pack which was the problem.

Slicks 11.77@115.92mph Street tyres 12.162 @ 119.02

Just the standard one

Warrenty runs out in feb so will be looking to change IC and manifold then. I know you guys supply and fit GRS IC's do you also supply manifolds?

Thanks for the info on the coil pack, any ideas with the clutch issues?
