Xenon poor beam

Is it just me or are the xenon lights not particulalry good. Car is a 2002 MCS and I wonder whether they get dimmer with age just like me!

They look bright when looking straight at them when standing at the front of the car however, I sometimes wonder whether they are on when travelling in lit areas as there is no beam shaddow on the road.

Yeah the self levelling may need adjusting.
The bulbs are designed X amount of hours but normally go bluer with older age, do they look more bluey at all?

Xenon

They are not partilcularly blue so it may be the self leveling function. Thanks for the advice. The car is going in for some upgrades at Fosters in Newcastle so I will get them to have a look.

How much would a set of new bulbs be?

They may not necessarily need adjusting, just resetting. My passengers' side xenon motor stopped working last Friday night, was obvious as the light was pooled on the floor and not lighting up the verge

To check them, park up against a wall/garage door/van/something vertical, turn the ignition on and then turn the lights on to main beam. Both light beams should move upwards together.

I reset my "stuck" one by unplugging the connector from the back of the light and plugging it back in - don't know what that should reset it but it did!

If it isn't the self levelling, you can buy reasonably priced bulb sets for £40 upwards.
