Offline | You didn't say how many miles your One has done, but the airfilter is pretty much choked half way to the specified changed interval. If you've done more than 25-30,000 miles on the original air filter then get it changed. |

| MINI2 Senior | Hey thanks for your reply. It has done 20k, and the inspection service is due in 5 thousand miles. So you think I should change the filter? I was thinking of getting it serviced now anyway. ![]() Focus > Mini One > Mini Cooper > Mini Cooper > BMW 316 > BMW 318 > MINI ONE > BMW 120i > MINI ONE PEPPER! - IM BACK!! |

Offline | If your MINI is covered by TLC then, unfortunately, they won't carry out the service under the TLC scheme until the service count down is less than 1,000 miles ![]() However, there's no reason not to give it an additional oil / oil filter / air filter change. I would. With only 20,000 miles up the air filter is likely to be mucky, but it's unlikely to be so mucky that it's damaging the fuel consumption this badly. But, for the small cost of an airfilter, it's certainly worth eliminating it. Tigger. |

![]() MINI2 Master | Check your tyre pressures too etc, I recently changed my air filter as was mucky, didn't make any diff to the consumption though. Also Winter fuel you will get less MPG's due to the winder additives added to it, also you tend to have your heating on more which also effects mpg's as the alternator is working harder. ![]() |
