Offline | I've only had my car back from the service department of Milcars for a day and I've found another problem ! There appears to be a pool of water (about 2mm deep) in my rear light cluster which is causing some condensation in it. If I press on it, it doesn't appear to be fixed on right. I'm beginning to think that Milcars in Borehamwood have sold me a dud. You can see below that a piece of my trim on my windscreen came completely off and now this ! The car has spent as much time in the garage, as it has on my drive. My doubts of the build quality of my particular motor is growing by the day. I've only had it a week !! Dont get me wrong...the car is great, but the hassle I've had before I got the car - with the terrible service at Borehamwood - and now, my patience is wearing a wee bit thin..... |

| MINI2 Global Moderator | Heres a possible fix: Open the boot and remove the trim panel so that you can access the rear light connections. Then, remove the wiring connector and undo the single bolt so that the lights can be unhinged from the bodywork. With the cluster removed, you should be able to unclip the entire light connection board. Take the actual cluster (minus the bulbs etc) indoors, pour the water out of the unit and then and use a hair dryer to dry the remaining moisture. Before replacing it is worth checking the foam seal around the unit to make sure it isn't damaged. Replace the unit and make sure the bolt is done up tight as possible but making sure that the unit is not angled into the bodywork too much. From my own experience I found that tightening that bolt gives the unit a little more of a seal from the outside world hence removing condensation. Good luck ![]() the MINI has gone... |

Offline | Mine also has same problem. Talked to dealer and they ordered replacement without question. So far, this is the only issue that I have had and the dealer is taking care of it quickly, so no complaints here. Motor On!! |

Offline | get it replaced by the dealer. That happened to my left rear cluster and I asked for it to be replaced. If you don't, the water will eventually cause the chrome surround inside to bubble and flake off. Hope you get it fixed soon. ![]() |

Offline | I had exactly the same problem. Dealer fixed it. You could do it yourself if your fed up with going to the dealer, but you don't and should'nt have to, it's the dealer's responsibility. |

| kbgnat and I got ours from the same dealers (HB Glasgow) and I've had both rear clusters replaced. Fogged up on the inside about four weeks ago, seals apparently f*cked. Seem ok now they've been replaced... not that I can say the same for all my other woe's... DBK. |

Offline | My lights have misted up too and may ask Milcars Stanmore to repair this when they repair my cracked windcreen under warrenty. Be careful with Milcars Stanmore & Watford. They will try and rip you off if they think they can. I.E. trying to charge £185 for a spare wheel when it should be £35 and taking five months and four visits to do the job! They can also damage your car while it is in for repair as they did mine. I have total faith in the car, and no faith in the dealer. |

Offline | Re: My are misty too + Milcars not good! You are not limited to using the dealer where you purchased your car. Just think, if you moved house to another county you'd go to a different dealer. But you don't have to move -- you are free to go to any MINI dealer you want for warranty work or servicing. + 2002 MINI Cooper S - Dark Silver / White roof, Sport, Premium, Lapis blue leather + 1965 Mini Traveller - Tartan Red / White roof, 1275, Cooper S discs, fully restored/renewed |

Offline | Condensation in the rear light clusters is one of the first faults I ever saw, and reported. Try a search for the word condensation for more information, but generally your dealer should replace it no bother at all. |
