Hi!

This is my first post, hello to everyone on here

My 04 cooper convertible is not opening properly. It opening to the first sunroof point and then tries to open fully. However the drivers side mechanical clip which locates in the windscreen pillar disengages ok but the passenger side doesnt move and seems to be jammed in place... The motors are wining away trying to put the hood down but since the passenger clip hasn't released the hood doesn't move.

Hope you can help as the MINI is out of warranty!

Hi kramix.

Welcome to MINI2. Sorry your first post is of a bad experience. Can't help either as I have a hatchback.

It might help if one of the mods moves this post over to the 'faults/fixes' forum, someone's bound to offer advice over there.

yes i had the very same thing happen to my 04 coopers works. i had to have a new roof frame as the whole thing twisted . However the guy said that the fault was caused by a faulty ram.

it sounds like you need frame from the sunroof portion,
