Offline | Squeaks and Rear Wash Wipes Hi All, My g/f has had her 2003/53 MCS for 3 months now and it has a couple of issues (as well as the boot lock problem I posted on another thread). 1 - When turning the steering wheel at low speeds there is a loud squeak/creaking sound that appears to be coming from the passenger side front wheel area. Any idea what this is? Could it be suspension related? Ive read about squeaky steering columns, but it doesnt sound like its coming from there. It is annoying, but im more concerned that it could be something potentially dangerous. 2- Rear wash wipe not working. Water is coming out and dribbling down the boot. It looks like there is some sort of rubber washer/gromet that has worn, connecting the water jet to the wiper. Is this something I can just get from a mini parts garage and fit myself. Keep meaning to phone them up but just havent got round to it yet. Thanks for any advice and merry christmas! |

Offline | Hi G I too have a 03 Sorry cant help with problem 1 but have just took rear wash wipe apart as had same problem. Luckily all it was, was the spray nozzel had got bunged up - stick a safety pin in and de-bung it - should do the trick, while your at it just check the rubber connector pipes aswell - a pipe cleaner is good for this. Hope this helps jon CHILLI RED C ![]() PER - H YES!! |

Offline | On mine (2002) the nozzle was fine but the short metal pipe that passes through the motor assembley was blocked. For that simply flip the plastic cover up on the pivoting end of the wiper and use a pin and/or pipe cleaner. P.S. If your leave it up it makes a great water pistol against anyone driving too close behind in traffic ;o) Mini: Drive and feel alive. |
