Sat Nav losing satellites

I've got a DVD based sat nav on my 53 cooper S and a couple of days ago I noticed that the 'sat nav' icon suddenly disappeared. Then I saw that only 2 satellites were being seen. This has now dropped to seeing one intermittently.

I've tried taking the fuse out for 30 seconds. The software is up to date and I've disconnected the battery, but nothing seems to work. I've looked in the diagnostics section and it's seeing 8 satellites but not much data from 6-7 of them.

Any other suggestions? It now thinks I live in Reading not Hertfordshire.

Weird,

I too hvae noticed my satalittes dropping out in the past few days? I thought it was tunnels and tram lines at the time, but just making excuses really. I know I am quote far from you, but could it be the satillites and not the systems?

Use the force.......resist the dark side......oh my......nah not worth it.....Dark Side here I come!

For us here in the northern hemisphere it is winter. The problem more than likely lies in the fact that there is moisture and cloud cover in the atmosphere that will interfere with coverage. My bet is that is all that is happening.
