Hi guys

So i have had the cooper for a week now and am slightly worried about the steering as it seems quite noisey ! but i was tol to ecpect this from Minis, but how noisey should it be as mine really does seem to whine quite loud ?

I was told it had a new steering rack and pump under warranty but not sure so will have to call Mini i guess to find out

Yes the power steering pump is noisy, get used to it, its the norm

Can anyone tell me why my power steering has failed and a possible answer to have it repaired , i love my mini so much .......

The power steering on the mini as with many new cars is powered by an hydroelectric pump which whines like crazy. It could be that there`s a loose/bad connectionto the pump or the electric pump has packed up. The pump i think is all part of the steering rack. Hope that helps you all out.

Yes Tie Fighter sounds are standard be it the supercharger or the power steering pump
