Offline | gurgling sound New to forum can I get some advice. Have 06 Cooper Parklane. Car has started to make gurgling sound which appears to be coming from passenger side around glove box. I assume it is to do with heater/coolant. Don't appear to be losing any fluid. Can anyone advise what is going on. Car has 14K miles |

Offline | gurgling sound Thanks guys had an idea it might be air getting in. Can it be bled or is it just a matter of topping up coolant? IT'S kind of an annoying sound more noticable when starting from cold as I assume level is lower and then when car heats up the coolant expands and sound goes. It just that it sounds like water sloshing around initially. ![]() |

Offline | Thanks again. Just been off looking at all the posts back to 2002 on the same topic!! If this was the central heating in the house I would be bleeding the system! Dont know about the rest of you but I find it a bit annoying in what is a great fun car to drive - lots of character. Oh I should say it's actually the wifes car!! I just take it now and again to stretch it's legs and blow the cob webs off.! |

Offline | this is caused by a poorly bled coolant system. air gets caught around the heater matrix inside the dash, the pipes into the engine bay are in the passenger footwell. check your coolant levels are correct, set your heater to hot, fan to 3 and air direction onto the windscreen. Then start the engine, and hold the revs at around 3k till the air blows HOT from the top dash vents. Give it a few good hearty revs to about 5.5k and your problem should be solved! Dont forget to recheck your level once its cooled! Hope this helps -Paul. |
