Headlight Motor Problem

My daughter took her mini 1 52plate into Sytner today because the headlights are pointing straight up and will not adjust via the switch.
They have just phoned and told her she needs a new motor and two new units to each light, which comes to £398 including fitting and vat!
This sounds so expensive just for lights that are not pointing right!
Any comments?

I was just hoping that someone could give us a tip while she saves up the money!
Anything to stop all the drivers flashing her every time she switches on her lights!

Sorry to hear about the large bill looming and first time i've heard of the lights pointing up. There are threads on the forum concerning lights pointing down, I wonder if any of the the suggestions on those could help you temporarily.

Try a quick search of the forums for "headlights pointing down" and also "manually adjust headlamps" I think there are a couple of screws on the back of the lamps that can adjust the beam up/down and left/right .

Here's one link for the headlights pointing down problem

Hey, we have just done what it said in that post you told me about and it seems to have worked!
The levelling switch worked and the lights went up and down again, they havent done that in ages!
I am hoping that it stays that way, will keep you informed. Come to the next Mini Addiction pub meet and I will buy you a large one x

Glad it worked better than spending £400
