Hi, have had a rattling noise on my mini for a while... had a look underneath and have seen what looks like a bracket on the left hand exhaust box hanging off. Have attached pic, apologies for poor quality.

Rather than take it in to get fixed I was thinking of doing myself however I have no idea what the part is. Anyone have any idea from looking at it?

My mini is an 03 MCS.

When I went to buy my MINI, it had the same problem.
MINI replaced the back box and brackets, looks to me like the weld has parted.
I suppose you could get it rewelded, but in what condiction is the box in?
You maybe better of just buying a new one

I needed both of my brackets replaced on my 03 MCS because they'd corroded and the hanger had actually snapped off the chassis!!

The exhaust wasn't in particularly great condition, so I replaced it all with a Milltek!

All sorted now!!

Hi there, i had the same problem with my 52 plate mini one back box bracket. So i removed it, got my welder out, some steel and repaired it ( the welsh are as tight as hell ). There`s a geezer on ebay selling heavy duty back box brackets for £20, if you don`t mind spending.

The bracket I got from the Dealers was more like 40-50 quid!!!!
