hi all, drinks are at the bar.

i recently purchased a cooper s on a 53 plate and having never driven a german made car i am left wondering where the green 'headlights on' dash light is? where the door open dash light is? and im slightly concerned that i have no temp. gauge (considering its a performance car!!)

any answers much appreciated.

I`m sorry if this sounds a little obvious but have you looked in your handbooks at the dash instrument layout.

there is no 'headlights on' light... The whole dash is illuminated once the headlights are switched on, so that ought to give you a clue

As for temperature gauge, I have a cooper S on a 53 plate and there is an engine temperature gauge next to the fuel gauge, within the huuuge speedo and there's also an outside temperature readout in the digital portion of the rev counter.

Some cars have the option of a stalk button to scroll through different displays on the rev counter, including speed, outside temp, etc....

That'll be news to the thousands of people employed at Cowley (just off the Oxford ring road) who actually built your MINI!

Now you've got a MINI, why not get on a factory tour and see them being built there?
