Milltek Loose maybe?

I have had the Milltek on my MCS (02/04) for 6 months and just noticed a new clunking when goinfg over bumps.

I took the car to KwiKfit for a check and its looks like the hangars are on the rubbers OK, but there is an awful lot of left to right play available.

Maybe this is the clunking.

Anyone know how to stiffen up the zaust to keep it from knocking ? OR is there supposed to alot of play and ive got another maybe suspension issue?

Help appreciated

That sounds like a split rubber to me, the design of them means a cursory look wont give anything away but if it's split it will be able to move inside it.
Thinking laterally, are all 4 of the hangers attached? Does the milltek have a band like the standard exhaust, if it does it might have come loose/rusted through.

Clunking diagnosed and sorted. Twas the ball joint at the bottom of the front passender strut. Replaced and now clunk free and feels alots tighter. Diagnosis, Part and Fitting £82 ( non BMW )
