You know, even cars costing many hundreds of thousands of pounds are not supplied as 'perfect'. It doesn't matter who the manufacturer is - be it BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Bentley, Ferrari, Lamborghini, you name it - there isn't a car manufacturer on the face of the Earth that can deliver a 'perfect' car. It simply is not possible.

No matter how small they are, those imperfections are still there. No matter how good any service is, it's still provided by people - and people make mistakes. Importantly, a good manufacturer and their dealership network will do their best to correct these inevitable mistakes with their warranty infrastructure - and the support for prestige marques (such as cars of the BMW stable) tend to be better than that of a budget car.

To be perfectly frank with you, I think your expectations thus far have been unreasonable. In the end, if you cannot accept 'anything less than perfect', then you will always be disappointed - and you are setting yourself up for an unhappy existence.

Perhaps you would benefit from being slightly more forgiving - just a thought.

Good luck Baldrick, with everything.

Andrew.

canvasrepublic - I found your response quite insulting - all of my cars, both past and present, have always been bought cash - but that is besides the point. i bought the mini for my commute as it is small, nimble and holds its value - That said - i paid 12500 for a small car from the BMW stable and do not, therefore, expect it to be supplied at anything less than perfect - which it was...

Logging off

Baldrick

Dont we all want that?!?

I paid 20k for my brand new Cooper D, ive owned it 8 weeks now. In that time its been back in the workshop 7 times, ive been without it for 7 full days and had 4 courtesy cars while its been being sorted.

You've noticed a problem 2 years down the line, and your not happy with what the dealer is offering?! How do they know that youve not had a new graphic in that time and that it wasnt a different decal fitter that did it?! Yet they are still offering a respray!

What he said.

Troughout the years I've learned to stay away from Alfa's, but saying that, no doubt the will have improved over the years since the old days .

Anyway Good Luck!!!!!!

As others mentioned, I think there was more to this than just the roof issue. However, you have to be happy with what you are driving so good luck and enjoy.

If that's the current Alfa Spider, then it's a stunning car. I hope your Alfa dealer is as helpful and generous as your MINI dealer has been.
