Offline | Tired of things going wrong :( I have had 3 MINI's all in all. The first was a cooper and then a pre-facelift S before this one which is a 05 reg MCS. Had it about 6 weeks now and a whole load of things keep seeming to come to light with it. Its a real shame as its only done 19k MIles and visually is in immaculate condition. Anyway to start with the Suspension Towers were mushroomed up... so got that sorted which took a week. It had full KDS but now the steering is really messed up as in its like the steering wheel isn't on straight. The LSD was groaning and grinding so had that sorted too. Now the clutch when pulling away in first gear sounds like a wooden chair being dragged along the floor for a moment. Wonder what this is, I can't get the car to do it for the dealership so its going to be hard to put right. As well as the usual assortment of rattles and things vibrating the boot lid fits really bad.. massive gap one side and then not on the other... its not been in a crash because its all been checked by them and independently and after research just seems like some are like that. On top of all that its taken them 9 weeks in total to get a new interior for the car (seats) around 6 weeks to get the parts and now in the mean-time have to wait two weeks to get it booked back in. o make things worse they changed an engine mount and leaked glycol all over the engine bay which I have asked them to clean up (my old MCS engine bay was clean enough for you to eat dinner off) and it still looks filthy a real mess to tell the truth. Now I like the dealership in question so dont want to pick holes but its got to the point where I have paid for something and in the end got a car that I haven't really bonded with (starnge thing to say I know) and find myself feeling like I wish I had my old one back because at least I knew it was all perfect. I cant really drive my car right now because the steering thing is ridiculous but suprise suprise nothing can be done for a 2 weeks because they don't have another car to give me to drive in the mean time. I bought this MCS to replace the old one which had covered many miles and also gave me the chance to spec right up to what I wanted full JCW interior and engine etc etc and over a month later I still have a MCS that is far from being 100% how I wanted it to be.... Where do you think I stand now? I have tried talking to them about it but I think they are fed up me asking to sort things now when they tell me they will sort just cant for two weeks. ![]() Its anoyed me so much that Im on the verge of wanting to give this back and start over again maybe with an R56 now to escape all this drama of trying to get this to drive properly. |
