United-Kingdom Cruise Control Fault

Apologies if this has been asked before but after searching I couldn't see it elsewhere...

I'm a newbie MINI Cooper S (inc JCW + Aero) owner and collected 'Lorna' Friday. Promptly decided to do an Italian Job and went to Stelvio Pass via Davos in the alps for a run in, 1600 fabulous miles later am one happy bunny, but I did notice one niggle.

My cruise control, fails to activate, it just flashes the green dash indicator twice then goes off. I'm trying this above the 20mph minimum and have done the engine off and on again thing, no change. I've reported it to the dealer and they say it's broke, but it did work when in I collected it from them, not three days ago and although I've covered rather more than average milage in the intervening period, I'd hope it lasts longer than that! Stupidly I never actually used it at the dealers to make sure it wasn't just the lightbulb working, and I only noticed since returning to the UK as C/C on hairpin alpine roads would be a once in a (very short) lifetime experience

Cheers

I have not taken it into Mini as I dread the cost of it?

I guess it's not going to be covered by TLC or warrenty then? I'm going to argue the toss with my dealer since I've only just taken delivery. I'll let you know what happens, I'll get a quote for you too either way. Will update you Sunday.

Not a terribly uncommon issue, your dealer should be able to resolve this quite easily. Could be a bad break switch, but I also believe there was a resistor added that prevented this issue.
