convertible problem!

Hi all, what a great 1st post this is.........Last night i thought i`d drop the top down and as i started to slide the roof back 1 side went back and the other banged and dropped two pieces of metal on the carpet, has anyone ever had this happen to them and does anyone know the workings of the roof?i now have an inch gap on the drivers side and hoping the weather holds till after the bank holiday.
The reason i ask is my local dealer is filled with pretty boys who look down at you and i always feel like i`m gettin ripped off and taken for a chump.if anyone has any idea what might be wrong with my roof(the runner is whats snapped and the mechanism is twisted)and how much i may have to pay so that i have some idea b4 they rifle through my pockets it`d be great.

Thanks people.

I would be straight back to the dealership asking them to look into whatever is wrong. I know what you mean by about being looked down upon but if the car is faulty then they have a responsibility to sort it. Do you still have warranty cover? If so, there surely should not be a problem.

Good luck YP!

the roofs have been trouble since day one - both the fabric and mechanism - do a search and you will find loads.

Dealers know how bad they are so I doubt they will try and fight you for it
