Question New AC COOL... NOT COLD!

My AC compressor failed, and I just replaced the compressor and drier. I bought the parts from Classic in Ohio (awesome guys), and I had a local BMW Specialist do all of the work.

When I picked up the car the AC seemed to be working normally (75 degrees ambient). After work (103 degrees ambient) the AC was not able to keep up; although, it was still blowing cool air. The tech evacuated and recharged the unit again, but the results did not improve. All of the equipment attached to the car showed the readings (Pressure) to be correct and even the BMW diagnostic tablet showed all was correct (flaps opening etc). But the air was still not cold! The AC was cold and fine before the compressor died.

Is there any other sensor that may be causing the problem?

Could I have a "mixer/blender" problem inside the dash?

Is there a secret to charging the MINI that a BMW tech might not be aware of?

The closest MINI dealer is 2 hours away, but it seems to be the next step.

Thanks in adavnce!

Have you got auto/climate control air con or manual?
This thread link below may help you on the sensors for auto aircon, the outside air temp sensor is probably worth checking first, behind the front bumper.

I have the automatic AC.

Thanks for the link...

What does the "solar sensor" on the top center ofd the dash do? Rain sensing wipers were not available when my MINI was built.

Cheers!

The solar sensor is linked into the A/C and I think measures any Solar gain in the car interior temp.
eg. the direct additional heating effect (in addition to the ambient temperature) of having the sun's rays fall directly on the car.

Did the compressor grenade? If it did, there may be metallic particles from the compressor rammed into the system, possibly clogging the expansion valve orfice. You may need to check for this. Any time a compressor fails, it is good practice to multiple flush the system to get rid of debris. Some specialists even trash the hoses and mufflers.Changing the drier/accumulator is a big help, but sometimes won't get it all.
