Question Can't Enable Speed Sensative Wipers

Been to two dealers and neither can enable this feature on my new S. They think it may be a code issue

Anybody else got this working on a new S (Oct build)?

Cheers.

Yes it is available but needs to be coded in..

Its called "SWITCH DOWN WHEN STAITIONARY"

Section 1.5 in car memory...

The system switches down the wipers from speed 1 to intermitant and from speed 2 to speed 1 (when stationary.)
cheers

I was told it wasn't an option as well.

Great, and as I thought, so why are we being turned away and told it won't work

I've seen my vehicle memory print-out, which confirms its activated - it just don't work. Could it be a code-level issue, with new cars and old dealer diag software

Same with mine...
It's enabled (says the dealer, for what thats worth ), but it sure does not work. (MCS 2003)
Neither does the automatic rear-window-wiper work if gear set to reverse AND front-wipers are on (and it read in a folder it should do such thing)

So If we do not get the auto dimming mirrors and sensing wipers option the stock wipers are still speed sensitive right? Like when u go fast it moves faster and when u go slow it slows down?? I mean thats on all the BMWs... I was asked that by my dad today and I couldnt answer it.

So, is it true that when you select reverse and the front wipers are on, the rear wiper should automatically sweep ?

Not sure our wipers are speed sensing either.

- Red/White Cooper, Silver wheels, Climate Control, Chili Pack, heated mirrors, CD Boost, Alarm, Heated seats, Factory Tint Windows. Now gone (but not forgotten)

The first question...

In the manual it says that should happen....in reality, i dont know of anyones MINI that has this feature (annoying really cos my mate P reg Rover 200 has this option)

The second question...

Mine are speed sensing....the quicker i drive, the more frequent they sweep. Useful at 120mph in the wet

The service guy at my dealership said that enabling the speed-sensitive wipers on our MINI wouldn't do anything. He said that there are some '03 MINIs that technically have the option enabled, but it does nothing....

Whatever.

Info only

The rear wiper function that wipes when reverse is selected is not an option on any mini in this country...
