Offline | Clunking Noise Hi, anyone had this before on their S? After driving the car and she's all warmed up, pull up for a pit stop, every 15 seconds i get a clunking sound from underneath. I've booked it in for a check but just curious to know if anyone else has experienced it. Alan fae bonnie scotland ![]() |

Offline | Could be what I heard the past few days. After some fast dual carriage ways, I stopped at lights and heard a clunk every 10-15s, seemed to be from passenger/front area. Normally have my new Alpine blasting, only heard coz I was changing disc. |

Offline | Yep I get the same noises. So far I have assumed that they were caused by expanding/contracting exhaust pipes ar heat shields. Have experienced similar noises in other cars, just not as loud. Got my PiperCross induction kit today!! |

Offline | Ind Kit Hi Andy, I'm on the verge of buying the Hartge 200 BHP ungine upgrade and will almost certainly be selling my induction kit. They are good for better throttle response accross the full rpm range. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Alan fae bonnie scotland ![]() |

Offline | My Cooper seems to do the same thing. I attributed it to expansion and whatnot from heat, but I really don't know. If someone comes up with another idea let me know. Thanks |

Offline | I've heard my car make some banging and cracking noises when I park at work and turn it off - I just attributed it to expansion and contraction from heat and use... They do sound a little 'unhealthy' though. One morning the thermo fan came on as I walked from my car to the elevator after driving to work. It scared the daylights out of me - it's REALLY loud! ![]() |
