Pentosin CHF 11S Power Steering Fluid?

I notice a reservoir in my '02 Mini Cooper has 'CHF 11S' printed on the cap. After a recent servicing visit to my local Mini dealer I noticed when my Mini is cold the steering has numerous rough spots that I have to work my way through, especially when attempting a three-point-turn. I figured it was a problem with the power steering, and to my dismay the reservoir with 'CHF 11S' printed on the cap is bone dry. There's *no* fluid in there even when the car is warmed up! I have no idea what my dealer did or why, but my question is does anyone know if the correct replacement power steering fluid is Pentosin CHF 11S? This reservoir is not explained in the owner's manual. I need to get this fixed immediately before the steering gives way while I'm driving.

That's exactly what it is, the only place I know to get it from is your local BMW/Mini dealer. BMW has been using this fluid for years and I would not use anything other than that fluid. If you fill it with anything else, your warranty on the steering system may be void.

There are lots of sources for the CHF 11s, it is also used by Porsche and Audi. Just google the term. Its easy to spend $30 a liter though, last time I bought some I got it from Import Parts Specialists in Boise ID for under $15.

These folks have come through for me several times, and for an east coaster its nice having them a couple of time zones away: you can muck with your car when you get home from work, find something you need, call em and they'll have it in FedEx that evening.

No commercial interest, just a satisfied customer.
