Offline | Windows and sunroof opening by themselves on my 2003! Oh no. Please don't be happening. I have a 2003 cooper which I picked up in October and the windows and sunroof have opened automatically on mine! They radio stations had all lost their presets as well. I thought this software problem was fixed last year. Has anyone had recent experiences with this? Jay Holy Monkey! Indy Blue Cooper / White roof, wheels / Sport Package / Sunroof |

Offline | I make sure that I do not have the key in my pocket whilst I am at home. The car unlocked once when the key in my pocket pressed up against another key or coin and unlocked the car. I am constantly going to the window and checking that the car is fine after that. Good luck, Charles BRG/W MCS |

Offline | Hi On 2003 minis, if you hold the remote unlock button pressed in, after 1st unlocking the car, it then opens the windows. Could this be your problem? I found this out whilst trying to remotely open the boot, as the instructions in the manual said to hold the remote open button in and the boot would open. But to my surprise my windows opened instead! My dealer said this option had been removed and replaced with window opening because of boot opening problems? Strange thing to replace it with though, you have to get in the car to wind them back up, or put the key in the door and turn and hold it there until they close?!! Hope this helps. Juliane |

Offline | As long as you are sure that you didn't keep your finger on the key fob - and it has to be for a long time for everything to open - then they did open by themselves. I had this problem - open all night in the rain. Most people who have come across this all seem to think that water is to blame somehow. My dealer took off the "comfort" option from the key fob - but someone else on here has had them open even after that fix. So now I am constantly waiting for it to happen again. And of course, the immobiliser and alarm go off as well. It's a serious problem - so much so, that your car isn't really insured if you can't guarantee that it's locked! Take it to your dealer and demand action! Sonic |

Offline | sunroof and windows opening I have a 2003 MINI Cooper. My windows and sunroof would open while the car was parked and unattended. This would also happen when the lights were turned off. After the dealer had it a week they discovered a pushed pin in the connector at the drivers door lock. I haven't had any problem since the repair. Lynn Lynn |

Offline | windows sunroof and temp malfunction I have a 2007 Mini and i had an unusual incident with my windows, sun roof opening automatically and temperature gauge change from metric to imperial all on it's own. It happened twice (temp change just once)...as soon as i closed the driver door, the windows and sunroof opened up. However, when I tried on the passenger side to shut that door last, the windows stayed up , but the second attempt failed. I took it to the dealer and they said it might have something to do with the comfort control and the key. Will have to wait and see what they find tomorrow. |

Offline | I have a 2007 mini and have the same problem with windows opening half way. I don't have a sun roof. Numerous times I have locked up the car at night, gone inside, come out in the morning to find my windows open-twice in the rain which is really a bummer. |
